To create this gin, we enhanced the classic Mohn Poppy Gin with a generous handful of spruce shoots, adding a crisp tartness that harmonizes beautifully with the cascade of ripe citrus, sweet spiciness, and the sharpness characteristic of rye. The alcohol is very well integrated. Mohn Poppy Spruce Tip London Gin is a great component for unique original cocktails and works well in various gin & tonic variations when paired with aromatic flavored tonics.

Mohn Poppy is made from Estonian rye spirit. The characteristic aromas and flavor nuances of gin come from blue and green juniper berries and poppy seeds. Dried orange peel adds a citrusy character. The rye spirit used as the base ingredient brings a rich and spicy Estonian taste to the palate. Mohn Poppy Distilled Gin is an unfiltered distilled gin. Although the bottle does not bear the label “London Dry Gin,” it can be considered one, as no added sugars are used.

In 1688, the island of Muhu was called Mohn Island, which in German meant “Poppy Island.” At that time, the island was covered with vast poppy fields.
