Hand-crafted flavoured vodka

Poor and hostile times make people go to the forest in this land. There it is good to pick plants and berries and let them sit in the vodka. This is how it has been hundreds of years in Estonia and Livonia. How else would you fight off the cold and bleakness in the rain and mist? The benefits of flavor vodka were not overlooked by pharmacists, who eagerly started making it in the darkness. Jakob Kurberg perfected the art while being the “poison mixer” at the time and establishing Moe fine spirit distillery in 1886. Today our masters have selected the best of his “medications” to make life more and keep the cold away.

J.J. KURBERG HOPS

The production of pure vodka developed in Estonia for centuries, and always went hand in hand with the preparation of vodka flavoured with plants and berries. Naturally, smaller quantities of these special vodkas were made—to be savoured at home, offered to guests or to help banish the cold and dampness. Pharmacist Jakob Kurberg, who also established the Moe Fine Spirit Distillery in 1886, was a master of this art. The master distillers at the Moe Fine Vodka Distillery have selected few recipes for producing small batches of handcrafted flavoured vodka.

Vodka, which has matured with a hot chili pepper (in Latin Capsicum annuum ‘Cayenne’) and has been hand-crafted in a small batch, is meant to be enjoyed and helps when it’s cold or when you’re feeling down. It reflects both – the genuine flavor of the ancient times and the aroma and taste of the natural ingredients. This vodka is made of 100% Estonian ingredients. Organic chilli has been grown in the fields of old Kopra Karjamõis in Valga County and the spirit has been made of the winter grains of a certain region of Estonia.
