Rye Malt Whisky

In 2016, Moe Distillery laid its first batch of rye malt distillate to age in oak barrels within its historic cellars. The whisky is crafted from Sangaste rye, a cherished Estonian heritage grain and national symbol. Crafted from premium Estonian spirit, caraway seeds, and a unique touch of seaweed, Saxby Akvavit is a masterful balance of nature and craftsmanship. Part of the spirit undergoes a minimum 14-month aging process in oak barrels, where it absorbs rich, complex notes of wood, caramel, and vanilla. The final layer of distinction comes from Furcellaria lumbricalis, a type of seaweed native to the Baltic Sea.
